Race Recap: iRacing Porsche Cup at Mugello
In my latest race, I took part in the iRacing Porsche Cup Open Series at the iconic Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello. With a Strength of Field (SOF) of 2860, the level of competition was intense. I started 16th with car number 11 and ultimately finished 17th. Unfortunately, I lost 45 iRating, but on the bright side, I gained 0.05 in Safety Rating. Despite the result, I’m relieved to have made it to the finish line.
However, the race wasn’t without its frustrations. My PC encountered some recurring technical issues, freezing for a second or two during the first or second lap. This happened multiple times, with the screen freezing and the sound cutting out. It’s incredibly nerve-wracking, as each time it occurs, I worry that my race is over and a crash is imminent. Despite my best efforts, I haven’t been able to pinpoint the exact cause—my Event Viewer only shows a “Device Setup Manager Error” with Event ID 131, offering little insight. This problem is really starting to drive me crazy!
This race was particularly challenging due to the scorching heat this week, with temperatures consistently over 30°C. It left me with little time to practice, making the race even more demanding. Nonetheless, the experience was nearly mistake-free, and the sensation was phenomenal, thanks to my Full Motion D-Box System and top-notch components. It feels incredibly realistic every time I race.
