Heartbreaking Spin and Crash in the Final Laps! | iRacing Porsche Cup at Hungaroring
Welcome back, racing fans!
In my latest iRacing event, I took part in the Porsche Cup Open Series at the Hungaroring. The Strength of Field was a challenging 2638. Unfortunately, my iRating took a hit with a loss of 61 points, and my Safety Rating decreased by 0.07. Starting in 11th position with car number 11, I managed to maintain a consistent and flawless performance, holding onto 9th place for most of the race.
In lap 12, I saw an opportunity and executed an overtaking maneuver, moving up to 8th place. However, disaster struck in the final corner of that lap. As I was about to enter the start/finish straight, I accelerated a fraction too early while holding 8th position, causing my car to spin. The car behind me collided with my rear right, breaking my axle and ending my race prematurely. I ended up with a total of six incident points.
Races like these happen, unfortunately. Luckily, not too often, but this was a typical mistake on my part. Once again, my lack of practice showed, as the extreme heat this week prevented me from training adequately. That’s just how it goes sometimes. My excitement got the better of me, and three laps before the finish, I lost my 8th position, ultimately finishing in 17th place.
Despite the disappointing result, it was still an immersive experience with my D-Box Full Motion Simulator, integrated 57-inch monitor, Simucube Ultimate Wheelbase, Precision Sim Engineering Porsche steering wheel, and Sparco 5.0 seat. It’s almost like the real thing, and I love racing here.
I hope you enjoyed the video despite the outcome. Unfortunately, I couldn’t finish the race, but that’s racing for you. Sometimes, that’s just how life goes. See you next week. Don’t forget to subscribe to my channel, hit the bell, or whatever. I would appreciate it.
