Greetings, racing enthusiasts!
Welcome back to my blog, where I share the ups and downs of my virtual racing career. Today, I’m taking you through a particularly eventful race in the iRacing Porsche Cup Series, held at the challenging Mount Panorama Circuit, better known as Bathurst.
This race was a rollercoaster from start to finish. I began in the 15th position, car number 20, and crossed the finish line 16th, despite facing a series of mishaps. The race was marked by a total of 9 incidents, most of which occurred in the very first lap and within the first three turns—a tough start that unfortunately cost me 23 iRacing points.
Despite the setbacks, the overall experience was enriching. My opponents were competitive yet fair, providing a real challenge. The incidents were solely due to my errors, largely attributed to insufficient practice time. This week, I had managed only one session with an Open Setup, and then had to switch to a Fixed Setup for the race, which definitely affected my handling of the car.
Racing on my D-Box Full Motion Simulator always adds an extra layer of excitement and realism. The simulator is equipped with a 57-inch monitor and top-notch components including Simucube, Ultimate, and Syntec hydraulic pedals, complemented by a Precision Sim Engineering Porsche Cup Steering Wheel. It’s as close as it gets to being in the actual race car!
I’m already looking forward to the next challenge and hoping for a smoother ride. Thanks for sharing this journey with me. If you liked this post or the race recap video, don’t hesitate to hit that like button or subscribe for more updates. Every bit of your support is greatly appreciated!
