Road America – Full Course

Welcome to another exhilarating entry in the iRacing Porsche Cup series, this time from the legendary Road America circuit. This race featured a competitive Strength of Field of 3,331, and I began the event in 14th place as car #18 following the qualifying rounds. Despite several challenges, I crossed the finish line in 18th position.

The race was a rollercoaster of emotions and performance. I ascended to the 10th position by the third lap, but a critical mistake at Turn 12, known as Canada Corner, dramatically altered the course of my race. You can witness this pivotal moment on lap 3. My performance faltered again in laps 4, 5, and 6, with my racecraft compromised by multiple errors.

Amid these setbacks, there were highlights, notably the fierce duels with two adept French drivers. Although my driving was plagued by too many errors, these battles were intense and showcased moments of true racing skill. Unfortunately, my limited practice—racing just once a week—likely contributed to these mistakes.

Nonetheless, the thrill of the race was undeniable, enhanced by my D-Box Full Motion Simulator setup, complete with a Simucube 2 Ultimate Wheelbase, Precision Sim Engineering Porsche Cup Replica steering wheel, Sparco 6.0 harness, Sparco seat, and Simtag Ashley hydraulic brake pedals. The realism of this equipment made the racing experience immersive and visceral, yet forgiving, as my crashes only cost me points, not repairs.

I hope you found this race as thrilling to watch as it was for me to participate in. Remember to stay tuned for more gripping race recaps and updates. Hey there, fellow speed enthusiasts! I’m Philipp, your SimRacing aficionado, and on this virtual race track, I find my therapeutic escape. iRacing is not just a game; it’s my medicine. As soon as I ignite that engine and immerse myself in the cockpit, the world fades away, leaving only focus and the thrilling hum of the car. I cherish these moments, and I hope my followers experience the same adrenaline rush through my videos. Join me on this high-octane journey, where every turn is a chance for excitement! Dreaming big, my ultimate life goal is a Porsche Experience Weekend at the Nürburgring, surrounded by like-minded individuals, whether in a Porsche Cup or a GT3 RS—I’m not picky, but a Cup car would be the icing on the cake. With an instructor by my side, of course, and the best part? All of it for free. I know, it sounds absurd, but hey, dreams are meant to be wild. Weekdays are dedicated to training, squeezing in sessions whenever time allows. Thankfully, it’s not an everyday affair; otherwise, it might lose its charm. Come weekends, you’ll catch me uploading a weekly race, either on a Saturday or Sunday. Buckle up and enjoy the ride on my channel—because here, we race with a dash of humor and a whole lot of fun!
