Welcome to another exciting recap of my iRacing adventures! This time, I took part in the Porsche Cup at the iconic Silverstone circuit with an open setup. The Strength of Field for this race was 3352, and I managed to gain +0.13 Safety Rating and +1 iRating.
Starting in 14th position with car number 14, I encountered a bit of a hiccup right in the first lap. In the third corner, I spun out due to accelerating too quickly on cold tires, which unfortunately dropped me to the last position. Despite this common first-lap mistake, which I always try to avoid by driving cautiously, I was able to recover and finish in 13th place. All four of my incident points came from track limits, but I managed to avoid any crashes.
Racing in such hot conditions, with 30 degrees outside and 40 degrees inside my living room simulator setup, added to the challenge. Nevertheless, the race was fantastic, and I enjoyed every moment on my Full Motion D-Box Simulator. My setup includes a 57-inch integrated display, Simucube 2 Ultimate Wheelbase, Precision Sim Engineering Porsche Cup Replica Wheel, Simtag Ashley hydraulic pedals, Sparco 5-point harness, and more. This simulator is the best investment I’ve made, turning every race into a dream experience.
I hope you enjoyed watching the race as much as I did driving it. There were a few entertaining moments, especially watching other drivers’ mishaps from behind. I also hope the sound quality was up to your standards and that I didn’t ramble too much during the commentary. I’m gradually getting more comfortable with talking during the race, and your feedback is invaluable.
If you liked the race, please leave a thumbs up, subscribe to my channel, and share it with your friends who might be interested in motorsports or sim racing. Feel free to leave comments or questions – I make an effort to respond to every one of them. Thank you for your support, and I look forward to seeing you in a week, or maybe even sooner.
Until next time, happy racing!
