Circuit Gilles Villeneuve

McLaren 720S GT3 in iRacing GT Sprint – A Short but Eventful Run at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve

Welcome to my latest adventure in the iRacing GT Sprint Simucube Series! This time, I took on the iconic Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in the McLaren 720S GT3. Let’s just say… it didn’t last long!

With a Strength of Field of 2899, rainy weather, and a starting position of 18th, I knew it’d be a challenging race. After four intense laps, though, my race was already over. I made it to the pits but wasn’t about to wait 17 minutes for repairs—session ended. The good news? I wasn’t last; I finished 27th out of 28! Small victories, right?

In those four short laps, I racked up twelve incidents. It all started with another driver, also named Philipp, positioned awkwardly in a corner. I couldn’t dodge him, which led to a collision. After struggling to maneuver my car, I got rear-ended. One thing led to another, and before I knew it, I was down 66 iRating points with a Safety Rating drop of 0.53.

Despite the mishaps, I still found it entertaining. My last few races with the McLaren have been chaotic, but sometimes you’ve just got to laugh. Here’s to hoping for a better run next time—at least this one’s quick to watch!
