Nürburgring Nordschleife

Porsche RSR on the Nürburgring Nordschleife – Ringmeister RICMOTECH Series Recap

This Sunday, I decided to take a break from my usual McLaren races and jump back into the Ringmeister RICMOTECH Series on iRacing. This series takes place on the Nürburgring Nordschleife with a different car each week, and this time, it was the Porsche 911 RSR. As a huge Porsche fan, I couldn’t resist!

I’ve been waiting for over six months to get the officially licensed Porsche RSR replica wheel from GRID Engineering, but they’ve had nothing in stock for ages. Every time I ask when it’s available, they keep pushing the date back—August, then September, October, and now they’re talking about Black Friday pre-orders. I’m starting to lose faith in their timelines, which is frustrating because they’re the only ones making the official Porsche replica gear.

Now, onto the race itself: I started 12th and finished 10th, with just one incident, and the strength of field was 2016. Overall, I’m happy with how it went. I raced using my full-motion D-Box simulator, paired with a 57-inch monitor, Simucube Ultimate wheelbase, Simtag Ashley hydraulic pedals, and my Porsche 911 GT3 R wheel from Rosso Simracing—high-end gear that makes the experience feel incredibly realistic.

The race was fairly relaxed, which was exactly what I wanted on a Sunday. I took it easy in the first lap, letting a few cars pass without too much of a fight. I know my fellow racers, and on the Nordschleife, it’s better to play it safe, especially with the slipstream effect in full force. But in the second lap, things heated up, especially in Fuchsröhre. It was such a thrill, and the highlight has to be the chaotic pile-up towards the end, involving 4 to 6 cars—make sure to check out the replay for that!

I hope you enjoy watching the race as much as I enjoyed driving it. Feel free to leave a comment or share your thoughts, and if you liked what you saw, don’t forget to subscribe for more! See you next week!
